Alpine Lumber Supply

Client: Alpine Lumber Supply provides building materials and installation service to contractors operating throughout Idahos northern panhandle. Founded in 1978 by Robert Myers exclusively as a Cedar supplier, Alpine has since become known for having the largest selection of specialty lumber in this region. The company has two branches located in Sandpoint and Post Falls Idaho.

Challenge: Strong housing development in the area provided extraordinary growth opportunities requiring an infusion of capital. The Company sought to find an acquirer with the resources to capitalize on the demand while maintaining the reputation for service developed over a 29 year history.

Process: Given the unique market position enjoyed by the client, Exvere developed a marketing strategy that provided exposure to potential buyers on a national scale. Interested parties were further screened to identify those best qualified from the viewpoints of both financial capacity and compatibility with the established culture.

Outcome: By listening carefully and understanding both the stated and unspoken criteria, Exvere was able to obtain favorable indications of interest, and ultimately offers, from multiple parties. This enabled the owners to make an informed decision regarding the sale of Alpine Lumber Supply. Exvere then worked closely with Alpine and their professional advisors to negotiate the terms and ensure a successful closing.
