As M&A Activity Expected to Rise in 2018, Exvere Expands Team with Addition of Two New Managing Directors

SEATTLE, March 9, 2018 – Exvere, a Pacific Northwest capital transactions advisory company, today announced that strategic business advisors John Heffernan and Mary Rodwogin have joined the firm as Managing Directors. Both based in Seattle, Heffernan will specialize in advising companies in aerospace, telecom, and technology while Rodwogin will advise consumer retail and food/food processing firms. John and Mary will report to Jan-Erik Andersen, who was brought in last year as managing director and COO who is responsible for day to day operations, business development, and strategic initiatives.

Deloitte’s annual analysis of M&A trends reveals that many corporate and private equity executives forecast an acceleration of the mergers and acquisitions market in 2018, both in the volume of deals and the size of the transactions. Based off of Exvere’s 25 years of experience leading Pacific Northwest businesses in liquidity, exit, and growth initiatives, the company anticipates exponential growth in M&A activity in the business services and consumer retail sectors in particular in 2018.

“John and Mary are two phenomenal assets we’ve added to our team to continue the broad and exceptional services we provide to our clients,” said Michael Brustkern, chairman and founder of Exvere. “They join our team at a pivotal time as we’re rapidly expanding the company to meet the demand of the growing capital transactions market in the Pacific Northwest.”

John Heffernan joins the firm with more than 20 years of M&A experience in industries including technology, telecommunications, ecommerce, the internet & digital media and business services. Prior to joining Exvere, John led M&A efforts at several NASDAQ companies completing over $1.5B in transactions on the buy- and sell-side. He began his career as a chartered accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

“I’m proud to join the stellar team at Exvere, a firm that continues to be a recognized leader in providing top notch strategic advisory services to Pacific Northwest businesses,” said Heffernan. “Exvere offers me a wonderful platform to bring my collective years of experience providing strategic advice on equity capital, merger and acquisition services, and joint venture skills to some of the leading aerospace, telecom, and technology businesses in the world.”

Also joining the team, Mary Rodwogin brings over a decade of experience in finance, consulting and relationship management to Exvere, where she advises business owners within consumer products and food/food processing. She started her career at Citigroup where she focused on deal structuring, financial and business analysis, strategic consulting, credit/debt underwriting, and relationship management for a portfolio exceeding $100 million. Most recently, Mary was a management consultant, where she was engaged in project management, business analytics, process improvement, current state and future state assessment, relationship management, and overall strategy consulting for the financial services sector. Mary received her BA in Economics from Columbia University.

“What attracted me most to Exvere is the team’s dedication to relationship building, which ensures each deal is crafted with the long-term interests of both parties taken into account,” said Rodwogin. “I am looking forward to growing the consumer retail and food processing books of business – diving into the industry research and forging new relationships – with the same level of customer satisfaction Exvere has been known for the past 27 years."
